Red Lobster phone number: Entrepreneurs Bill Darden and Charley Woodsby launched the first Red Lobster restaurant on January 18, 1968, in Lakeland, Florida. The date of incorporation of Red Lobster Inns of America, Inc. The Florida Secretary of State’s Office is the basis for the frequently cited date of March 27, 1968.
Named the “Harbour for Seafood Lovers” initially. The original eatery was followed by four other locations around the American South. Red Lobster began as a five-unit business that General Mills purchased in 1970. With fresh support, the chain saw significant growth in the 1980s.
In the 1980s, Red Lobster made its way into Canada by purchasing Ponderosa restaurant sites.
