History

ELC Phone Number: When Estée Lauder and her husband Joseph started making cosmetics in New York City in 1946, the business was born. Originally, their product line consisted of just four items: Skin Lotion, Super Rich All-purpose Creme, Cleansing Oil, and Creme Pack. They opened their first department store account with Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan two years later, in 1948.

They kept selling their items in the US and broadened the range during the ensuing fifteen years. The company began working with the London department store Harrods in 1960 as its first overseas account. It established an office in Hong Kong the following year.

They unveiled the Aramis range of men’s grooming and aroma products. Which takes its name from an exotic Turkish root that was once used as an aphrodisiac. Business and finance editors recognised Estée Lauder as one of the ten Outstanding Women in Business in the United States in 1967. In 1968, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University presented a Spirit of Achievement Award. That year saw the company’s second expansion, the launch of Clinique, a fragrance-free, allergy-tested cosmetic brand under the direction of dermatologist Dr. Norman Orentreich.

Marketing

ELC Phone Number: One of the many brands owned by the Estée Lauder firm is Estée Lauder. It has occasionally included well-known spokesmodels, commonly known as just “faces.” ‘Facebook’ stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Anja Rubik, supermodel Liya Kebede—the first African ‘face’ of Estee Lauder—Paulina Porizkova, Elizabeth Hurley, Carolyn Murphy, and Karen Graham are among the past ‘faces’ of Estée Lauder. Supermodel Hilary Rhoda served as Estée Lauder’s primary spokeswoman as of 2008. Three new models, Liu Wen from China, Joan Smalls from Puerto Rico, and Constance Jablonski from France, joined the company’s roster in 2010.

Efforts to raise awareness of breast cancer

As a symbol of breast health, Evelyn Lauder, Estée’s daughter-in-law, co-created the “Pink Ribbon” with Self magazine in October 1992, launching the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Since then, the message that early detection can save lives and that breast health is important has been heard by millions of people worldwide. Every year, all 19 of the Estée Lauder Companies’ brands participate in the company’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Taken together, they are the first and biggest corporate sponsor of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Breast Cancer campaign of the Estée Lauder Companies was launched in 1992 and has raised over $89 million worldwide for medical services, education, and research that could save lives.

Environmental activism

Estée Lauder Companies promised to spend £100,000 ($115,453) on an investigation of the condition of the water in Windermere, England’s largest lake, in November 2022. Additionally, the business has promised to donate £500,000 ($577,222) over the following five years to support the innovative environmental restoration initiatives being implemented in several UK National Parks.
