History of SchoolsFirst Phone Number

A group of 126 school employees created SchoolsFirst FCU in 1934. With a combined $1,200, they founded Orange County Teachers Credit Union and obtained a state charter for California. In 1985, it changed its name to Federal after becoming a federal charter.

With $14.12 billion in assets at the end of 2017, SchoolsFirst FCU ranked sixth in the US credit union market by total asset value. $119.06 million was the net income and $1.63 billion was the total capital for that year. They have one of the best capital-to-asset ratios in the US banking sector, at 11.11%. In 2019, they claimed to have more than 800,000 members.

By December 31, 2022, its total membership had risen to 1.2 million. Its asset size had expanded to $26.9 billion, and its capital-to-asset ratio was 9.87%.

Schools Financial Credit Union and Merger

On January 1, 2020, the merger became formal, and on November 1, 2020. The data from the two credit unions was integrated.

SchoolsFirst and Schools Financial announced plans to merge at the beginning of 2019, subject to member and regulatory clearance. The combined credit unions promised that the merger would not result in the closure of any branches or the layoff of any staff. According to their separate statements. The merger would combine members and assets, totalling over one million members and $17.1 billion in assets. With effect from January 1, 2020, the combined credit union will use the name and charter of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union.
