History
Following the cancellation of its operating license by the Philippine Aerial Taxi Company (PATCO), the airline was established on February 26, 1941. Back then, it was called Philippine Air Lines.
PAL, formerly among the biggest airlines in Asia, suffered greatly during the Asian financial crisis of 1997. PAL reduced the size of its fleet, terminated flights to Europe and the Middle East, essentially eliminated all domestic flights outside of those that left Manila, and laid off thousands of workers as part of one of the largest corporate collapses in Philippine history.
After being put into receivership in 1998, the airline eventually resumed service to several destinations. Following its release from receivership in 2007, PAL has often changed its leadership to restore its reputation as one of Asia’s leading

Pros and Cons
The nonstop flight is one of the advantages. 13 and a half hours of being shut up is another drawback. Multiple airlines share the pre-departure lounge. At LAX, there is no location guide provided during check-in. There aren’t many places to charge your electronics in the lounge, and there’s no TV monitor or available reading material. The onboard staff was a pleasure to deal with. When I asked for a gluten-free lunch, two canapés on toast were served. He gave them back to the attendant. I was frequently offered bread. I never received any of their white wine selections, so I was expecting some. The flight departed on schedule. arrived a little early.
